what to expect

FITNEss levels

A moderate level of fitness and some hiking experience is beneficial for all the walks offered by iWalkWaiheke, Waiheke is very hilly! Parts of the walks are steep and can be a little slippery when wet. You will traverse some narrow single track paths along the coast and many bush trails with tree roots and /or mud if it has been raining. There are also quite a few steps! But it is stunningly beautiful and worth every step. In New Zealand we call this tramping, though throughout the world some of our routes would be called hiking trails, rather than walking tracks. Please come prepared, check the list below for the correct gear, and if you have any questions please contact us.
